Intracranial Hypotension Symposium 2017

Intracranial Hypotension Symposium was held on October 14, 2017 hosted by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in partnership with Spinal CSF Leak Foundation.

Course Description: This full-day multidisciplinary Symposium brought together top clinicians, researchers and patients.

I gave an impassioned speech at the end of the day about my conjecture there is connection between Leaks and fluoroquinolone antibiotics, which generated lots of applause. Sadly, it was not recorded.

I was told a couple weeks after the conference by someone that was there that they would push for more research on all the reasons for attenuated Dura, including drug toxicity. If that comes to pass, then I’ve accomplished my goal.

This event was so successful that a few late arrivals had to be turned away due to lack of space so the 2018 event has been expanded to two days. The tentative date is October 13-14, 2018. It will be held in the Los Angeles area at a larger venue.

Now that you’ve read Karen’s Journal, I’m sure you understand we need help training more doctors and doing research into better imaging techniques. There are a couple of tax deductible funds set up as a starting point. Better to give to help those still suffering rather an giving to the IRS!

Please help so others don’t die the way Karen did!

You can make this be the start of Karen’s story and not the end of it…

Karen, I MISS YOU SO MUCH… Till we meet again at Rainbow Bridge

“Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

“They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

“You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...” ~ Author unknown

Levaquin® Production Ceased

December, 2017

As the book goes to press, we just learned that Johnson & Johnson / Janssen Pharmaceuticals has stopped production of Levaquin®.

Sadly the generic versions are still in production.

Nevertheless, one small battle of removing dangerous Fluoroquinolones from the market has been won.

This moment marks five years since Karen’s death. While I will ALWAYS help those that need it or ask, it is time for me to move on with my own life and passions.

Unless there is some significant event, like establishing the fluoroquinolones to Dura damage connection or a cure is found, I will not be making any further book updates.

I will continue to add any significant events or new research to my blog on Karen’s website http://www.kpaddock.com.

Also this book, Karen’s Journal, has become an integral part of the full-length documentary #PAIN WARRIORS, formerly Pandemic of Denial (as mentioned earlier in the book). Check my blog on the progress of the movie, such as release dates and where it may be found once released.

May the Peace of God lead you to blessings and good health for you and your family. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Enjoy NOW the time you have with them.

Love, Robert “Hubby” Paddock

PAIN WARRIORS (*formerly Pandemic of Denial) sets out to examine the invisible crisis of Chronic Pain in North America, and its devastating toll on society. We have changed our film title from Pandemic of Denial, to “PAIN WARRIORS” to best reflect the courageous battles we face each day as patients denied life-giving treatment, as well as the brave doctors who continue to treat pain, even as they are under fire.
